NC & SC OTOLARYNGOLOGY AND HEAD & NECKSURGERY 2024 ASSEMBLY

  • The NC/SC Annual Meeting is focused on presenting a series of clinically relevant talks and panel discussions for otolaryngologists in NC and SC. Attendees have the opportunity to earn CME after attending these lectures, and also have the opportunity to interact with resident physicians. The mix of private practice and academic otolaryngologists fosters multidisciplinary discussion. Additionally, practice and legislative updates are provided in an effort to keep everyone a breast of important updates.

Learning Objectives

  • Reflecting on the importance of patient perception and symptomatology of scar in facial skin cancer reconstruction, incorporate PROMS and scar scales into patient evaluation for scar revision and review the most current data regarding laser treatment of scar
  •  Stating the key principles of nasal reconstruction, including both cutaneous and contour restoration
  • Understanding the role of surgical intervention in treating keratosis obturans and ear canal cholesteatomas -
  • Incorporating interdisciplinary collaboration in the management of cricopharyngeal dysfunction through improved understanding of the pathophysiology, diagnostics and therapeutic strategies -
  • Understanding the evolving role of induction chemotherapy in the management of sinonasal malignancies 
  • Describing the rationale for and surgical technique using a new robotic technology for cochlear implant electrode array insertion
