Emerging nurse leaders play a critical role in supporting safe practice, regulatory compliance, and consistent decision-making across clinical settings. This course, “Strengthening Organizational Response: Applying the CET to Support Transparency and Just Culture,” provides participants with an in‑depth understanding of the North Carolina Board of Nursing’s Complaint Evaluation Tool (CET) and its application within leadership practice. Through interactive discussion and case-based learning, participants will explore how the CET supports transparent evaluation of practice concerns, aligns with Just Culture principles, and guides leaders in determining appropriate next steps when addressing complaints or performance issues

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to: Explain the purpose of the Complaint Evaluation Tool (CET) in supporting fair and consistent leadership decision-making. Distinguish which types of complaints should be evaluated using the CET. Describe how the CET aligns with the principles of Just Culture. Use the CET to analyze a case scenario and determine the appropriate next steps for resolution.
