Nutrition in ERAS: What You Must Know"

Target Audience

This activity is designed to meet the continuing education needs of health care providers in the fields of nutrition, surgery and geriatric care. These providers include physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses and pharmacists.

Learning Objectives

After participating in the live and enduring educational activities, learners will be able to;

  1. Confidently understand the role of nutritional support in perioperative decision making.
  2. Apply clinical practice guidelines to the management of malnourished surgical patients.
  3. Evaluate the strengths and limitations of new research evidence regarding the implementation, effectiveness, and safety of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols.
  4. Apply new research findings to clinical practice to optimize outcomes.
  5. Evaluate strategies healthcare providers can employ to encourage patient engagement in perioperative nutrition related decisions.
