Optimizing Multidisciplinary Management of Advanced Prostate Cancer in Community Practice - A Collaborative Approach - November 20, 2019

A quality improvement educational collaborative targeting the interdisciplinary team that manages patients with prostate cancer. Educational strategies will include a moderated Advanced Prostate Cancer Tumor Board with continuing education content with the goal of stimulating learning and facilitating conversation.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this activity, learners should be able to:
- Review evidence and expert opinion regarding choice of therapy and sequencing of prostate cancer therapies as early stage prostate cancer patients progress to metastatic disease
- Engage community clinicians (medical oncology, urology and others) with subject matter experts in the determination of best practices in the management of advanced prostate cancer in the community setting
- Determine baseline knowledge of recent evidence of import to the optimal management of advanced prostate cancer and compare with expert opinion
- Increase awareness of and participation in multidisciplinary management of advanced prostate cancer
- Identify barriers to implementation of best practices by individual clinicians and develop customized approaches to overcoming barriers
- Reinforce learning and expand participants through community site-based Tumor Boards orchestrated by content experts
