PEER MESSENGER TRAINING: PROFESSIONALISM PROGRAM FOR NON-PHYSICIANS

March 26, 2024

What is professional behavior—and what falls within unprofessional behavior? How can we promote behaviors that foster professionalism, inclusion, and respect? We’ll briefly explore professionalism, the impact of unprofessional behavior, and examples of professional behavior. Then we’ll practice three sets of skills to help us promote professionalism and a positive work culture. Finally, we will learn how to be a Peer Messenger and provide a “Cup of Coffee” conversation. Specifically, we’ll engage in a four-step process to name the behavior, offer time to reflect, validate, and refer as appropriate.
