THE PLASTIC DETOX: ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE AND HUMAN HEALTH - 8/17

August 17, 2026

This two-part continuing education series features a facilitated screening and discussion of The Plastic Detox, a documentary examining the pervasive presence of plastics in everyday consumer products and the associated implications for human health and the environment. The documentary explores common sources of plastic exposure—including personal care products, food packaging, and household items—and reviews emerging evidence linking plastic-related chemicals to endocrine disruption, genetic changes, reproductive health concerns, and other adverse health outcomes. Each 60-minute session includes a 45-minutesegment of the documentary, followed by a 15-minute moderated discussion designed to encourage reflection, dialogue, and application to public health, nursing, and healthcare practice. Participants may attend one or both sessions, with each session offering 1.0 continuing education credit. Session dates are August 12th and 17th.

Both sessions meet 12pm - 1pm.
