Pneumonia Update for Duke LifePoint Hospitals

This webinar is to provide an update on the latest treatments for pneumonia. Given that there are different types of pneumonia, Dr. Brooks will compare and contrast each of these; healthcare acquired pneumonia, community acquired pneumonia, ventilator associated pneumonia, aspiration pneumonia and pneumonitis. She will also identify other diagnoses than pneumonia for recurrent dyspnea and cough. she will discuss influenza treatment and complications as well as identifying sepsis and other causes of deterioration in the context of pneumonia.

Compare and contrast healthcare acquired pneumonia (HAP). community acquired pneumonia (CAP), ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP), aspiration pneumonia and pneumonitis.

Identify other diagnoses than pneumonia for recurrent dyspnea and cough.

Identify influenza treatment and complications associated with influenza.

Review post influenza pneumonia treatment.

Discuss identification of sepsis and other causes of deterioration in the context of pneumonia (sirs, qsofa, documentation vs. clinical)
