Pre-Conference Session 2: Lean Strategy Deployment for High-Performing Teams

San Diego, CA US
June 20, 2018

How do you integrate TeamSTEPPS with lean quality improvement?

Lean is a culture and management system used to align people with purpose and process to improve workflow, teamwork, and satisfaction. Lean tools empower people to standardize work, decrease errors, and improve efficiency. TeamSTEPPS provide communication and leadership tools to apply lean strategies.

Through games, simulations, and discussions, we will demonstrate how lean strategy deployment can lead to high-performing teams. Participants will also experience a gameplay of “Friday Night at the ER” to apply systems thinking to tackle quality improvement challenges. The game involves multiple hospital departments and is appropriate for all healthcare providers, quality improvement personnel and hospital leadership.

Who Should Register: This workshop is best suited for those who have a good understanding of the TeamSTEPPS tools, and is suitable for participants who are seeking to hone their process improvement and leadership skills. Please note that this is not a session to learn TeamSTEPPS as a model – but to learn how to integrate lean and TeamSTEPPS to quality improvement.

Target Audience
