To equip preceptors to become effective clinician educators who can develop and implement curricula, and facilitate group Quality Improvement projects that will address needs of vulnerable pupulations in North Carolina.

Target Audience

Physicians - community preceptors

Learning Objectives

  • Describe the Duke PCTE program, and specifically, its goal for teaching QI to PA/MD/Nursing trainees
  • Describe factors contributing to the current epidemic of opioid abuse and overdose death
  • Identify Quality Improvement initiatives that can be implemented by preceptors and students to reduce opioid misuse.
  • Describe effective strategies for conducting QI projects
  • Describe effective strategies for teaching/supervising QI projects.
