PRINCIPLES OF STERILIZATION OF INSTRUMENTS, ACUTE ALLERGIC REACTIONS, AND SUSPECTED OVERDOSES EDUCATION
Learning tool to teach nursing staff and other health professionals the principles of sterilization of instruments; respond to suspected acute allergic reactions, and opioid overdoses at the Duke University Student Health & Wellness Center.

Learning Objectives
Student health staff will rapidly identify, triage, and manage suspected acute allergic reactions and opioid overdoses by performing immediate life-saving interventions.
These include administering epinephrine for anaphylaxis and naloxone for opioid toxicity, alongside activating local emergency medical services, monitoring patient vitals, and initiating rescue breathing or CPR if necessary.
Student health staff will understand the principles of instrument sterilization.
