PURPOSEFUL PRECEPTING:DEVELOPING PRACTICE-READY NURSES THROUGH THE 4 CS

The workshop is designed to strengthen preceptor and clinical instructor capacity in three core areas—coaching, communication, and inclusive clinical culture—so they can more effectively support nursing learners during the transition to practice. It equips participants with practical strategies that build learner confidence, enhance competency development, foster psychological safety, and promote a sense of belonging in clinical environments.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Apply coaching and feedback strategies that build learner confidence, support clinical competence, and promote progression toward independent practice.

  • Create inclusive learning experiences that strengthen clinical culture, support professional socialization, and promote a sense of belonging for nursing learners.
