REACH Equity Implicit Bias Course - Skills Part 1 (November 16, 2021)
The Implicit Bias Educational Program is designed to mitigate the impact of implicit bias in the clinical encounter by addressing providers' knowledge, awareness, and skills. This pilot program is part of a research study conducted by Duke’s REACH Equity disparities research center (https://sites.duke.edu/reachequity/), and it will consist of 3 virtual sessions. These sessions provide didactic and interactive material, including knowledge of the phenomenon of implicit bias and evidence of its impact on clinical care and outcomes; awareness of the tendency for all humans to make implicit associations that can lead to stereotyping; and the development of skills designed to mitigate the impact of implicit bias in the clinical encounter.
