REDUCING THE RISK OF DEVICE-ASSOCIATED INFECTIONS FOR UNCSOUTHEASTERN

  • Presented by DICON (Duke Infection Control Outreach Network) faculty, this education focuses on reducing the risk of catheter-associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI) and central-line associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI), especially in intensive care units. Alternatives to urinary catheterization, indications for obtaining urine cultures, central line insertion practices will be covered. The purpose of this presentation is to highlight key strategies for preventing device-associated hospital-acquired infections.
