Stress First Aid Training- 10/17/22

This four-hour training includes an introduction to the stress first aid framework and how peer support informs application of the stress continuum, four sources of orange zone stress, and the stress first aid model as a pre-clinical toolkit designed to persevere life, prevent further harm, and promote recovery. It also explores the underlying physiology and pathophysiology of stress and the aspirational state of resilience as well as varied methods used to reduce the risk for compassion fatigue and stress injury and promote coping and resilience among individuals and groups. It concludes with the application of the stress first aid model to contextually relevant scenarios relevant to social, occupational, and academic settings.

  • Explain how peer support informs the application of stress first aid.
