TEACH MORE ABOUT TEAMS: IPE Clinic

October 28, 2019

This continuing professional development session is for clinical preceptors who supervise health professions learners in the Duke Health Interprofessional Education Clinic. In this session, we aim to equip clinical preceptors with new knowledge, skills, and attitudes to more effectively facilitate interprofessional education (IPE) in this unique clinical setting. This one hour session will consist of a brief content presentation by session instructors, structured group discussion, and time for individual reflection and how the content will be applied in practice. The session will be highly participatory in nature, with focus on understanding challenges of IPE while striving for solutions. Team communication skills will be based on four IPE core competency domains defined by Interprofessional Education Collaborative (Panel, I.E.C.E., 2016) which are endorsed by multiple national organizations representing various health professions.
