VASCULAR DISEASE FOR THE REFERRING PROVIDER

- The Duke Vascular Disease for the Referring Provider CME Course is designed to educate healthcare providers on the latest advancements in identifying and evaluating vascular disease, and best-practice treatment options. The course will focus on peripheral artery disease (PAD), aortic aneurysms, leg edema/venous disease, and vascular access for dialysis. Attendees will gain an understanding of key indicators, new surgical interventions and treatment strategies, and when to refer to a vascular specialist.

Learning Objectives
1| Outline the differences between limb and non-limb threatening disease and describe effective diagnosis for clinically significant PAD (peripheral artery disease);
2| Describe indications for aortic aneurysm repair and identify appropriate options follow up procedures;
3| Discern between emergent and non-emergent issues with dialysis access and evaluate and assess dialysis patients for possible referral back to vascular specialist; and
4| Identify symptoms of venous disease especially in patients presenting with leg edema and evaluate treatment options including referral
