Walmart HIV Education Series - Core Topics

  • The purpose of this training is to leverage the accessibility of community pharmacists and other healthcare associates, equipping them with high-quality education and training to provide context-appropriate care relevant to HIV treatment and prevention.
  • The program provides knowledge, skills, and CE/CME credit to participants that will empower them to effectively care for people with HIV and those who may or are seeking preventive HIV services.
  • The training program includes 5 core modules which are appropriate for all Walmart associates.  Each module should take approximately 12 minutes, and completing all 5 earns 1 hour of CE credit.
    • Module 1: Understanding your role in ending the current HIV epidemic
    • Module 2: Providing quality care to those with HIV or seeking preventative HIV care
    • Module 3: Overview of  barriers to PrEP access and uptake
    • Module 4: How to talk about PrEP with your customers
    • Module 5: Stigma: How it interferes with HIV health outcomes and why it is relevant to your work
  • This is the first of two courses in the Walmart HIV Education Series, which will also include an advanced course for advanced topics.
  • We recommend the modules be completed on a PC or laptop, as completing the modules on a mobile device may not deliver full functionality and user experience.
