This is a three-part training series, Weight Bias Awareness in Providers, as part of a DNP project at Duke University School of Nursing, conducted for providers working at Planned Parenthood affiliated clinics nationwide

Learning Objectives

1. Understand that weight bias is pervasive in the medical community and affects the quality of care patients receive.

2. Understand the care scenarios that require weight measurements and those that don't.

3. Understand how to provide care in an understanding and unbiased way to people of all weights.

4. Gain confidence in interactions in different scenarios with patients of different weights.
