DCRI Evidence to Practice Series: Management of Diabetes in Heart Failure Patients

Through Duke-led case-based learning, the DCRI Evidence to Practice Series aims to increase adoption of the latest research results by showcasing when and where those results might be applied in practice, effectively arming learners with practical straztegies they can employ for the benefit of their patients.

Learning Objectives

  • Apply clinical practice guidelines to the management of patients with type 2 diabetes and with/or at risk of developing heart failure.
  • Critique the strengths and limitations of new research evidence regarding the implementation effectiveness, and safety of available therapies and devices used to treat patients.
  • Assess strategies healthcare providers can employ to encourage patient engagement in treatment decisions.
