  1. To learn about healthcare disparities in the use of implantable cardioverter defibrillators:
    1. What is the status of these disparities
    2. What is being done to address them
    3. What are the remaining gaps
  2. To review the work that the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Thought Leadership Alliance has done to date
  3. To highlight the role of quality improvement initiatives in reducing healthcare disparities ranging from performance measures to the role of EMR to forming multidisciplinary strategic partnerships with communities to improving the cultural competency of health care providers
