Through attendance at this session participants will be able to: 

 

  • 1. Recognize infants at highest risk for early onset sepsis and identify available tools to assist in management.
  • 2. Summarize glucose homeostasis in the newborn period and indicate when nutritional supplementation is recommended.
  • 3. Understand use of the Hypoglycemia Protocol for Asymptomatic infants with risk factors
  • 4. Newborn potpourri: review time sensitive maternal labs (HIV and Hep B); understand when hip ultrasounds are needed; review management of renal pelviectasis.
