Through attendance at this session participants will be able to: 

• 1. Review risk factors associated with hyperbilirubinemia and kernicterus.

• 2. Review management of hyperbilirubinemia in the newborn nursery.
• 3. Review how infants maintain glucose homeostasis in the neonatal period and indicate when nutritional supplementation is recommended.
• 4. Understand the risk factors for Sudden Unexpected Postnatal Collapse (SUPC) and what can be done to prevent it.
• 5. Review indications for testing for congenital CMV.
