1. The learner will understand salivary system physiology, causes of xerostomia, current treatments or prevention measures, and to whom patients should be referred.  
  2. The learner will understand International Dysphagia Diet Standardization Initiative and how to explain what foods or liquids are appropriate for patients to eat. 
  3. The learner will understand how to document dysphagia symptoms and discuss management before objective tests are completed.
