Early Start Denver Model Advanced Workshop

This Advanced Workshop in one step toward training professionals to be certified therapists in an early behavioral intervention for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) called the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM). Upon completion of this training, the trainees will submit additional materials to the trainers, who will evaluate their competence in delivering the model. If criteria are met, the trainees will be certified to provide ESDM to young children with ASD in their communities. This training is necessary to ensure widespread access to trained professionals who can help improve the lives of individuals with ASD.

Learning Objectives

Complete the ESDM Curriculum Checklist with a child with ASD aged 12-60 months.
Write individualized and developmentally-appropriate teaching objectives and teaching steps.
Implement ESDM with a young child with ASD aged 12-60 months.
Plan for ESDM Curriculum assessments and therapy sessions.
Use the ESDM Fidelity Rating Tool to reflect on trainees’ own and peer ESDM provision.
Understand the next steps toward certification as an ESDM therapist.
