Internal Medicine Update

July 24, 2017 to July 27, 2017

The practice of inpatient medicine covers a complex and ever expanding set of medical conditions. In recent years the practice of inpatient medicine is being performed by a wider range of providers across multiple specialty areas.1 Hospitalists, nurse practitioners and physician assistants are the front line providers who are engaging in the clinical care, teaching, research and leadership in the inpatient setting. In an era where reimbursement is being tied to outcomes, adherence to evidence based guidelines and best practices is essential.  Providing this network of providers the foundation to manage these diverse conditions can lead to better clinical outcomes and cost savings.
