Introduction to Quality, Department of Pediatrics MOC Portfolio Program

A 2015 internal survey found that only 5% of pediatric faculty had completed advanced training in QI. This finding reinforced the need to improve QI capability and experience.  The Department’s Quality Review Board (QRB) conducted a scan of existing trainings across the country for effectively introducing the science of improvement.  While many of the existing trainings are excellent and accessible, the QRB did not identify an introductory training module that was succinct and meaningful enough to prepare a faculty member for leading a quality improvement project. This educational activity is designed to incentivize learning by offering CME/MOC credit and to reinforce the importance of quality improvement.
