Occupational & Environmental Safety Office (OESO) Modules

To provide knowledge and tools to the health care provider and all Duke employees, enabling them to reduce risks associated with the employee's job responsibilities and convey best practices in workplace safety, which, when adopted, help create a safe work, patient and visitor environment.  The training modules are required based on job responsibility and occupational exposure and aid in building safety culture.

Learning Objectives

1. Identify the current effective environmental, safety and health performance in order to provide the optimum environment (health care and working) for all employees, patients and visitors.

2. Identify the most current safety processes, exercising the proper use of safety tools in order to prevent injury, inhalation, exposure or ingestion from the use of biological agents and materials.

3. Identify the most current safety guidelines and tools to prevent harmful exposure to hazardous chemicals.
