This course is intended to be an overview of the AngioVac device and procedure.

- Procedure overview
- Device safety and trouble shooting
- Documentation and charges
Part 3 of the course is an evaluation of learner's didactic knowledge and technical ability
- Attend a hands-on training session which includes:
- Simulate circuit preparation and prime
- Turn the pump on
- Adjust settings
- Turn the pump off
- Simulate circuit flush
- Simulate specimen flush

After completing this course, the learner should be able to:
- Locate and review the on-line policy and procedures
- Perform all necessary equipment assembly, priming, operation, and troubleshooting of device
- Review proper steps for the AngioVac procedure
- Knows proper documentation of all aspects of procedure relevant to Perfusion Services Department (paper forms and EPIC), as well as patient charges.
