COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed for pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons and allied health professionals

who are interested in enhancing their knowledge about pleural disease management and more

effective utilization of existing tools and technologies, particularly thoracic ultrasound. The lectures,

interactive didactic sessions and hands-on stations will cover a range of topics including thoracic

ultrasonography, chest tubes, tunneled pleural catheters and pleuroscopy.

 

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

At the conclusion of the course, the participants should be able to:

• Discuss current guidelines for management of benign and malignant pleural disorders.

• Have hands-on experience of performing thoracic ultrasonography, chest tubes, tunneled pleural catheters and pleuroscopy.
