Objectives:

    1. Explain historical trends of idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIMs)

    2. Review the original classification criteria

    3. Summarize unique features of myositis autoantibodies

    4. Analyze the role that myositis autoantibodies play within the evaluation and management of IIMs

    5. Evaluate proposed research plans and initial results
