Objectives:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

1.      Explain how hemolytic anemia can occur in patients with Glucose-6-Phosphate (G6PD) deficiency

2.      Recall the genetics and epidemiology of G6PD deficiency

3.      Discuss the safety of hydroxychloroquine in G6PD deficient patients

4.      Evaluate the results of a retrospective chart review study of G6PD deficient patients prescribed hydroxychloroquine
