Visiting Fellowship in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation-April 12-14, 2014
The 3-day course offers intensive training on the FDA-cleared treatment for major depression, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). Sponsored by the Duke University School of Medicine, includes didactic sessions and hands-on administration of TMS. The didactic sessions with the TMS faculty of Duke University and University of Texas Southwestern cover all topics relevant to running a TMS clinical service and a TMS research lab, including: new developments in motor threshold determination, treatment technique, stimulus dosing, risks, complications and contraindications, safety screening, post TMS management and continuation treatment, clinical and non-clinical research applications, and emerging brain stimulation techniques (e.g., magnetic seizure therapy).
